Miami Dolphins Mock Offseason

As we enter week 11, we have a good feel as to what the Dolphins strengths and weaknesses are. The Dolphins have a solid core, but still are missing talent at some key positions. They will try to fill these needs in the offseason, with a total of 10 draft picks, including 5 in the first 3 rounds, along with a projected $50 million in cap space. This will give the Dolphins a lot of room to work with in regards to free agency, and they will hopefully use that money and those draft picks well. They also have a slew of free agents they must decide to resign or to let walk. There will be some important decisions made, and I am going to try to project how Miami will go with those decisions. So, let's get started after the jump.

Miami Dolphins 5 keys against Tennessee Titans

After a devastating loss to the Indianapolis Colts last week, the Dolphins head back home to face off against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have been playing poorly, but have won some upset games. in addition, starting QB Jake Locker will return this week after missing a month with an injury. The Dolphins starting !B, Ryan Tannehill will be playing this week as well, albeit still hurt from his injury against the Jets. This should be an interesting game, and here are my 5 keys for the Dolphins to win.

Miami Dolphins Mid-season Grades: Defense

The Dolphins have played half of the season and stand at .500, which is a lot better than many national sports writers projected. The Dolphins still have a chance to make a run for the playoffs, both as a wild card contender and ans divisional champions, but it will be tough. The team is playing very well, and the defense takes much of the credit for that. The defense has improved form last year, and is one of the best in the league. We'll go through each position and grade the players based on how well they have performed based on expectations. If the player has met expectations, the receive a C, and then they can either go higher or lower based on how well they have exceeded expectations, or how poorly they have played based on expectations. Because of this, some of the rankings might seem too high, but that is because the expectations for the player were so low initially, while some may seem too low, because the initial expectations were too high. So, let's get started after the jump.

Miami Dolphins place CB Richard Marshall on Injured Reserve

News just got out that starting CB Richard Marshall has been placed on Injured Reserve by the Miami Dolphins. Marshall, who was out the past few games with a back injury, has been removed for the season. Marshall was brought in over the offseason to replace Will Allen as the team's nickel corner, but he excelled in training camp, beating out then-incumbent Vontae Davis for a starting job. This led to Davis being traded to the Indianapolis Colts. Marshall then started the season at CB, and played fairly well while doing so. Marshall then sustained a back injury that forced him to miss the past few games, until he was removed for the remainder of the season. In Marshall's place, CB Nolan Carroll, who has shined this year, will be starting, while CB/FS Jimmy Wilson will handle most of the nickel duties and CB RJ Stanford will be first off the bench. Today, the Dolphins also signed CBs Brandon McDonald, who, after being drafted in the 5th rd of the 2007 draft, has bounced around from team to team, as well as CB Bryan McCann, who went undrafted in 2010, before being signed to the cowboys, where his only memorable defensive play was returning an Eli Manning INT 101 yards for a TD, while earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. McDonald and McCann will provide some depth behind the 4 main CBs, but this secondary is getting thinner and thinner by the day. In other related news, the Dolphins also cut QB-turned-CB De'Andre Presley today to make room for McCann. we will see how this plays out.

Hey guys, its Pranshav, and I'm back again. First off, I want to say sorry for the long delay in publishing posts and for disappearing for a few months, but i was very busy in a crucial year for me. Never mind all that, I'll be consistent now as your premier HeatBeat. From now on, I will be posting post-game reviews after every Heat game, analyzing what went well, and what didn't in the game. I'll have my post up after every Heat game. Thanks

Miami Dolphins Mid-season Grades: Offense

The Dolphins have played half of the season and stand at .500, which is a lot better than many national sports writers projected. The Dolphins still have a chance to make a run for the playoffs, both as a wild card contender and ans divisional champions, but it will be tough. The team is playing very well, and the offense has a part in that. Many offensive players have stepped up throughout the season in order to keep playoff aspirations alive for this young Dolphins team. We'll go through each position and grade the players based on how well they have performed based on expectations. If the player has met expectations, the receive a C, and then they can either go higher or lower based on how well they have exceeded expectations, or how poorly they have played based on expectations. 5 keys to victory against the Indianapolis Colts

Tomorrow, the Miami Dolphins face off against the Indianopolis Colts in a game with huge playoff implications. The Dolphins are currently the AFC's 5th seed, while the Colts are right behind us as the 6th seed. As of now, it seems as if the Dolphins, Colts and Steelers will be competing for two wildcard spots, and winning this game could go a long way for the Dolphins in case a tiebreaker is necessary. In addition, this game happens to be the first time in NFL history that two rookie QBs, both being top 10 picks, and both having winning records are facing off.Andrew Luck and Ryan Tannehill both appear to be the future of their respective franchises, and this could be a great rookie shootout. My 5 keys to the game are after the jump.
