What to watch for in tonight's preseason game vs. Panthers.

Well, week two of the preseason is officially upon us, and it is once again time for knee-jerk reactions and predictions. Today, the starters are expected to get more time, about 25-30 plays, according to Head Coach Joe Philbin. In addition, Ryan Tannehill has been named the starting QB for tonight's game, so it will be our first chance to see the People's Choice go up against a real first team defense, the type he'll be seeing every week if he continues to play as he has and earns the starting spot. So, here is a list of some things you should be watching for in tonight's game.

Miami Dolphins Training Camp: 8/14

Well, as you can see in the title, I have no idea how many days of training camp have passed, since I've been gone for a while. A lot has happened since my last post. Including the arrest and subsequent release of WR Chad Johnson, the injury of QB David Garrard, the outstanding performance of QB Ryan Tannehill in the first preseason game, the injury of LBs Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett and a few practices. But, I'l skip all that and get to the main topic, today's practice. Out injured were LBs Kevin Burnett and Karlos Dansby, WR Brian Hartline, DT Tony McDaniel, DE Cameron Wake, OGs Artis Hicks and Eric Steinbech. Starting in place of the two LBs were backups Austin Spitler and Jason Trusnik. Ryan Cook and John Jerry were starting in the guard spots. Olivier Vernon, Jamaal Westerman and Derrick Shelby stepped in for Wake, Roberto Wallace started in place of Hartline, Ryan Baker and Kheeston Randall were the backup DTs, while Ryan Tannehill and Matt Moore split 1st team QB reps, with Tannehill getting the majority. More information is after the jump.

Pre-preseason 32 team NFL record/playoff predictions

Hey guys, I'm going to take a break from the factual training camp reports for a moment and do some baseless predicting. Yeah, this will most likely be way off, but I'm just doing this post for fun, not for informative reasons. So, yeah, I'm going to go through each division, look at each team and try to predict how well they will do this season. I am not going to try and go through and make sure the amount of wins match up with the amount of losses or anything like that, and it is a very basic guess. I will write an analysis per division and then try to predict the playoff match ups all the way to the super bowl, trying to predict the entire season. So, let's get started after the jump.

Miami Dolphins Training Camp: Day 10

Hey guys, after a long break, our daily training camp reports return. A lot has happened in the time we were gone, including Richard Marshall taking Vontae Davis' place as a starter, Ryan Tannehill apparently leapfrogging Matt Moore into the 2nd string spot, a few injuries and fights and much more. But, let's focus on today's practice. Brian Hartline is still out with a calf injury, and Chad Johnson is still starting in his place. Hartline is reportedly still day-to-day, and will most likely sit out Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. Ray Fienga also was missing from practice. Kevin Burnett left practice today with an injury, but did return later on, as did WR Chris Hogan. In some lineup news, Richard Marshall is starting in Vontae Davis' place, John Jerry got demoted to 3rd string, Anderson Russell jumped over Jimmy Wilson to take his spot as the backup FS, and, last but definitely not least, Ryan Tannehill was playing almost all of the 2nd team snaps today, a job usually given to Matt Moore, who spent some time on the 1st or 2nd team, but most of the time on the 3rd team. David Garrard took most of the 1st team snaps. Today, there were not many standout plays because the team was mostly doing 1-on-1's, so there was little info coming out, but there was still some good news coming out. The full report is after the jump.

Miami Sports Hub update

Hey guys, I know you guys have been enjoying our daily training camp reports. Unfortunately, I will not be able to write my usual reports until Monday, when they will resume. The reason for this is simple, I am actually going on a vacation, and will not be able to keep up the reports. As always, thanks for reading, and I apologize for not being able to put up the usual reports. I will see you guys on Monday, and keep checking in.

Miami Dolphins Training Camp Report: Day 5

Hey guys, we're back with our daily training camp reports after the players had a day off yesterday. Today was the first time in camp that the Dolphins practiced with live tackling, just not of the quarterbacks. Today, no one QB took the majority of the snaps with the first team, as Garrard and Moore shared the work about evenly. The Dolphins D-line had a great day today, as did one WR whose stock is rapidly rising. Brian Hartline was still sitting out injured, but Chris Clemons was back in, sending Jimmy Wilson back to the 2nd team. Clyde Gates also sat out today injured, doing rehab work with Hartline. There's more information and analysis after the jump

Could the Dolphins trade for Steelers' Mike Wallace

Hey guys, we'll take a break from our daily training camp reports today, as the players have been given the day off. In place of the daily training camp report, I'll discuss something else that may affect the Phins, Steelers' WR Mike Wallace. The Steelers and Wallace have had difficulty with each other to say the least, with Wallace wanting a long term lucrative contract, while the Steelers want to keep him on a restricted free agent tender because of their salary cap issues. Wallace then began a holdout in order to either get paid by the Steelers or get traded to someone who will pay him. Then, to make matters worse, the Steelers recently gave WR Antonio Brown a 5 year, $42.5 million extension. Brown was the starter across from Wallace this past year. With this move, the Steelers increased the likelihood of a Wallace trade. it has been reported that, in the time after the Steelers gave Antonio Brown a big extension, three teams contacted the Steelers about a trade. Those three teams were the Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys and our very own Miami Dolphins. After the jump, we will look at what Wallace brings to the table, what his cost will be and how he would fit in our West Coast offense.
