Miami Dolphins Training Camp: Day 4

Hey guys, I'm back with another training camp report after a day off. David Garrard took the field today with the starters, but Matt Moore also got quite a few reps there. Ryan Tannehill was working mostly with the 2nd team, while Pat Devlin took most of the 3rd team snaps. There were also a string of injuries today. WR Brian Hartline was still out with an injury, but is reportedly coming back within the next few days. Chad Johnson was once again starting in his place. Clyde Gates also got injured early in practice and sat out, which bodes poorly for his roster bid. Olivier Vernon also missed some time today after getting injured in an attempt to force a Lamar Miller fumble, but was able to come back on the field very quickly. Another injury was rookie safety Kelcie McCray, who is competing for a spot on the 53 man roster. A full report on today's training camp events will be after the jump.

MiamiSportsHub update

Hey guys, today was the 3rd day of training camp, and Ryan Tannehill's first day at practice, along with the first padded pratice. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make a training camp report for today, as I was in the hospital all morning, and will be busy for the rest of the day. On the bright side, our daily training camp reports will resume tommorrow, and we will have them for the rest of the week. Thanks for understanding, and I will get back to you tommorrow.

Miami Dolphins Training Camp: Day 2

Hey guys, today was day 2 of Miami Dolphins Training camp. Unlike yesterday, where I was going off of what others said, today I was actually at training camp, so you will get what I saw with my own eyes, not what a reporter said. Ryan Tannehill has still not been sign by the phins, so the reps were mostly split between Garrard and Moore, with Devlin running the 3rd team offense. In addition, both WR Brian Hartline and S Chris Clemons were sitting out practice. Hartline had a compression sleeve on his calf, indicating the injury he had there earlier in the summer has not fully healed. I was not able to spot Clemons on the sidelines, but I assume he is rehabbing the injury he obtained yesterday. WR Chad Johnson replaced Hartline as the starter, while Jimmy Wilson was the replacement for Chris Clemons. More information and analysis will be after the jump.

Miami Dolphins Training Camp: Day 1

The Dolphins officially hit the field today for their first publicly open training camp practice of the year. The mood was slightly tense however, as rookie QB Ryan Tannehill has begun his holdout for a contract. It is unknown how long this may last, but both sides seem firm on their positions on the issue of offset language. One theory that has been floating around for this is that the Dolphins are trying to make a Hard Knocks storyline out of the holdout, and it does seem like a good opportunity. Not only could Hard Knocks capture Ryan signing the contract, but could follow up with questions to other players on how they felt about Tannehill's holdout, giving them something else to talk about. Now, on to the actual practice, I have my report after the jump.

Dolphins Free Agent Signing: Eric Steinbach

Well, it seems like there is some phins related news today, and it sure is some good news. Today, the Dolphins signed free agent guard Eric Steinbach. Steinbach was signed to serve as insurance for John Jerry. Jerry has struggled to maintain his weight, and is still reportedly above the weight coach Philbin wants him to be at. This could be his doom, as he will be released if he doesn't get his weight under control. If that were to happen, Steinbach can be a great choice to either start at RG or to backup RG Artis Hicks. Hicks was brought in earlier this summer to add options at RG. More info after the jump.

Miami Dolphins Training camp kicks off today

Hey guys, long time since we've had any Miami sports news, but we're back with the Dolphins Training Camp. Training camp officially begins today, but we won't be getting much real news until tomorrow, the first practice of camp. Today, Dolphins players will be checking in, getting weighed, completing physicals and getting conditioning checks. The routine business to make sure all players are physically ready for camp. Any news coming out of camp today will be about players being in or out of shape. Releases will happen if a player like John Jerry, who is known for being above the weight limit, comes in even more overweight. In that case, he may get the axe right away given coach Philbin's mantra of high work ethic players. Any other news will be similar, players either having gotten in shape, or having gotten out of shape in the past month. We will bring you a more detailed Training camp report tomorrow, when practices start, and we might just have a special surprise in store for you on saturday, so be sure to check in frequently, because sports are about to start. I've left the full Dolphins Training camp schedule after the jump for you to check out.

Miami Dolphins schedule predictions

Hey guys, we are still wading through the offseason doldrums in the world of Miami Football, but that just means it's time for some predictions, I already have assembled my Training Camp Depth chart, and am assuming that it stays the same and Garrard starts off the season as the starter, Moore as 2nd string and Tannehill as the 3rd string QB. With that in mind, I'm going to go through each game and give my projected output for that game. So, let's get started, open the article for the full schedule prediction.

Miami Heat Roster: Analysis of the Young Guys

As free agency is under way, the Heat are currently looking at players like Ray Allen or Greg Oden (click here for more info on potential free agent targets). The Heat have many holes, the most prominent being a reliable wing man to come off the bench and provide 3 point shooting and that can play good defense and space the floor. We currently have Shane Battier, Mike Miller and James Jones filling this role, but with both Miller and Jones considering retirement, we will need a replacement. Another big need for the Heat is a reliable big man. They don't need a dominant scorer, but someone who can take over the boards, provide solid paint defense and can grab rebounds. The Heat didn't have any player last year who can do that other than Ronny Turiaf and Eddy Curry, one of whom wasn't ideal for that anyways and is leaving, and the other had played exactly 0 minutes all season and is leaving as well. Both of those roles are big needs for the Heat, but, what if there are some players already on the roster who can fill those needs? That's what I'm going to take a look at, some young Heat players that may step up and fill these needs (note: I did not include rookie Justin Hamilton because I already posted an analysis of him here).
